John Napier is the designer of the costumes, stage and logo of CATS, aswell as many other musicals, plays, operas and movies.
He was born on the 1st of March in 1944 in London and studied at Hornsey College of Art and the Central School of Arts and Crafts. He became Associate Designer at the Royal Shakespeare Company and he designed, among others, for the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and the English National Opera.
John Napier is the winner of several Tony, Laurence Olivier and Drama Desk Awards and he a member of the American Academy of Achievement. He was elected Royal Designer for Industry in 1996 and is an Honorary Fellow of the London Institute.
